People working or having a job offer in occupations in Tier 1 can apply for residence straightaway from 05 September 2022.
People working in Tier 2 occupations on the Green list can apply for residence after working for 24 months. Time can be counted from 29 September 2021, (Must hold an Accredited Employer Work Visa from 04 July 2022 in order to apply)

People working in highly paid occupations($55.52 per hour currently from 04 July 2022 and $54.00 between 29 September 2021 and 03 July 2022) can apply for residence after 24 months. Time can be counted from 29 September 2021, (Must hold an Accredited Employer Work Visa from 04 July 2022 in order to apply.

be 55 years old or younger
be able to meet the Skilled Migrant Category English language requirements,
be able to meet standard health and character requirements for residence, and
have or have been offered a job with an accredited employer, whose accreditation has not been suspended.
Acceptable Employment or Offer must be for minimum of 30 hours per week, contract for service for 6 months is also accepted if it is current. Fixed-term roles are also accepted as long as for a minimum of 12 months.
The 24 months of work in New Zealand does not have to be completed consecutively and can be a total of different periods, for example, two 12-month periods with a gap of six months between. Additionally, it can be made up of different types of work in New Zealand, for example, 6 months in a Tier 2 Green List role and 18 months in a role paid twice the median wage.
