Top secondary schools by reputation: Auckland Grammar (boys, Epsom zone), Epsom Girls Grammar, Westlake Boys/Girls (North Shore), Rangitoto College (Browns Bay), Macleans College (Bucklands Beach). All are zoned — you MUST live in-zone to enrol. Check exact zone boundaries at schoolzone.co.nz or each school's website. Zones change slightly each year. Many families specifically rent in-zone. Primary schools: check the Education Review Office (ERO) reports at ero.govt.nz for quality assessments.
