Generally very welcoming. NZ is one of the most multicultural countries — Auckland alone has 200+ ethnicities. Kiwis are friendly and helpful. Tips: the pace of life is slower than Asia or the US, work-life balance is valued, and people are informal (first-name basis with everyone). Challenges: housing costs are high, it can feel isolated from the rest of the world, and building a social network takes effort — join sports clubs, community groups, or your local ethnic association.
