Is Henderson a good area for families moving to Auckland? How is the commute?

Henderson is solid for families — WestCity mall has everything, the train goes to Britomart in about 40 mins, and rents are much cheaper than central. Waitakere Ranges close for weekend walks. Main downside is traffic on Lincoln Road at peak times.
